Well, I seem to have a bad habit of replying to myself :^)

Looks like PluginRegistry is fine (it seems happy to accept whatever
interfaces we use, old-style, new-style, whatever - though it really
ought to be updated just to be on the safe side).

The template for activating Interfaces for the plugins was
inadvertantly calling the inteface, and just needed a 'nocall:' in the
tal. It's fixed in CVS and I guess I'll cut a 1.1b2 today.
