The archive is also compressed with gzip.
If you have GNU tar you can do
tar xzvf Zope-2.1.0-solaris-2.6-sparc.tgz
If not then
gunzip Zope-2.1.0-solaris-2.6-sparc.tgz
tar xvf Zope-2.1.0-solaris-2.6-sparc.tar
Should sort you out.
