mod_ssl sets a number of environment variables, which I assume should be
available in REQUEST.

See http://www.modssl.org/docs/2.4/ssl_reference.html#ToC25 for a list.  The
one you want is SSL_CIPHER_USEKEYSIZE, so try
REQUEST['SSL_CIPHER_USEKEYSIZE'].
