Well, it helps if you seperate SOFTWARE_HOME from INSTANCE_HOME. If not,
you have to seperate out your INSTANCE_HOME (access, var/
possibly some products in lib/python/Products, Extension/, etc.) and copy
it to a new directory.

Now install the new version and, compile it.

Take the .cgi, and 
-) change to patchs for the module Main/Zope to the new installation
   place.
-) change/add an INSTANCE_HOME pointing to your data.
-) If converting from BoboPOS, use the utilities/bbb.py script to convert
   your database.

Shutdown your old ZOPE process, and restart it.
