[Zope] date-format

please help!

printing a date (choosen from a oracle-database) with <dtml-var
zeitstart> causes zope to type 1999/11/28.
but trying to format this field with <dtml-var zeitstart fmt="%d.%m.%Y">
results in the following output: 27.11.1999!!!!
but this is _really_ not the same day!! :-(

why???
