[Zope] oracle connection issue

Something is wrong with the way I'm connecting. When my server rebooted
unelegantly (some idiot unplugged it), I restarted both Zope and Oracle.
I restaretd Oracle using dbstart and turned on its listeners. on the
server, locally, sqlplus works fine. From Zope, however, I get the
oracle
error "ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress" (ora 01033) which
is clearly not the case, as local sqlplus seems to work fine.

Any ideas?
