[Zope] syncing zcatalog

hi all,

how do we keep zcatalog in sync so that searches will not return random
numerical key error.  we now update manually each time we discovered key error.
 if there's no common solution, we may have to set up cron and update at a
fixed interval.

another questions is:
is it true that after zope runs for a while ( in my case, 8 days running), zope
tends to get slower, or is it my imagination.  when i restart the zope process
thru the management interface, i sense that it responds faster.  can any guru
clue a newbie here?
