My solution reads:
 <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('authorized', 0)">
 <dtml-in PARENTS>
  <dtml-if "id=='Pub'">
    <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('authorized', 1)">
  </dtml-if>
 </dtml-in>
 <dtml-if authorized>
  <dtml-tree ...>
 </dtml-if>
