[Zope] Why does the MySQL adapter not work with MySQL and Zope

Hi,

Recently I needed to upgrade my MySQL version and now my Zope database connection is broken.  Is there a newer patch for the MySQL adapter? Using ZMySQLDA-1.1.3-nobin.tar.gz and ZMySQLdb-0.1.0.   I used the Alan Progman instructions to install.
Perhaps there is a better database that I can use that is less Zope fussy?  It seems problamatic.  Is there any hope of an improved Adapter installation method also?
