i faced the same problem and managed to get around it by creating an empty zope
(<Location /zope>)  folder.

this can be done with rewriterule /^(.*)  /zope$1 [PT]

p/s - do you experience any connection or zope problems with fastcgi?  i'm
trying to compile everything into one doc
