At last, something I know the asnwer to!

The DTML Language Reference
http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Guides/DTML-HTML/DTML.html has an Appendix
A, http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Guides/DTML-HTML/DTML.19.html at the
end. Even though there's no sample code anywhere on the page to show you how
they work, there are lot's of cool formats here and it goes something like
this :

<dtml-call "REQUEST.set('this_time', _.DateTime fmt=AMPM)">

using the first on in the list as an example. I had to search back throuh
old Mail List aArchive to find this.
