Shouldn't that rather be
<ul>
<li><p>this is an item</p></li>
<li><p>another item</p></li>
<li><p>a third item</p></li>
</ul>
After all, we *are* talking about paragraphs here. I happen to like --
very much -- the additional visual padding that paragraphs gives me.
