[Zope] long-time difficulties using Oracle 8i

Hi there,
I'm trying hard to make my Oracle8i (Oracle 8.1.5.0.1) for Linux on
Redhat 6.0 with Python 1.52 plus python-devel installed from rpms and Zope
2.1.6 talk to each other...
As I understand so far, I first have to
build the extension modules used by DCOracle.
And then
Install the ZOracleDA
Right?
Well, I do not even manage to do the first: When I try
make -f Makefile.pre.in boot PYTHON=/usr/bin/python
I get:
rm -f *.o *~
rm -f *.a tags TAGS config.c Makefile.pre python sedscript
rm -f *.so *.sl so_locations
VERSION=`python -c "import sys; print sys.version[:3]"`; \
installdir=`python -c "import sys; print sys.prefix"`; \
exec_installdir=`python -c "import sys; print sys.exec_prefix"`; \
make -f ./Makefile.pre.in VPATH=. srcdir=. \
VERSION=$VERSION \
installdir=$installdir \
exec_installdir=$exec_installdir \

I tried the new Oracle8i setup-file provided on www.zope.org, I also tried
both Setup-Files provided with DCOracle, but everytime the same.
By the way, I suppose that there is no problem with the Oracle
client-library setup, because I am already connecting to the Oracle8i with
PHP.
I've never had problems with Python installed from rpms? Did anybody else
have?
