[Zope] Filter Export

Has anyone tried to filter .zexp files to only contain a specific
meta-type?
For example:

I have an application with instances of MyMetaType ZClasses in a
folder. MyMetaType's are containers.

I want to only export the MyMetaType objects AND everything they
contain.

Would I have to build a complete export module for this (that's
what I'm guessing)?
