[Zope] Continuing Woe with Win98 (but Zope V1.10.3 works!)

localhost can be misleading. it's even worse in a hybrid network using WINS/DNS. From my experience I don't start it as a service that way I can see the DOS box. Normally I can see what port and the name of the machine when I start zope. You might have a name resolution problem so I would try using http://machinename:8080 or http://127.0.0.1:8080. Also assuming you have TCP/IP properly initialized on that machine.
If everything still seems in order you either try debug mode or run a freeware port scanner on the machine to see if that port is already open.
