This may not be the ideal way, but it works. <s>
I re-created another list in the request space, by iterating
through the first list. I send a couple of hundred items this way
and it doesn't seem to hurt performance. YMMV though. 

PS. If you find a cleaner way, please post it to the mailing
list. :-)
