When I try I get the file as read-only. And if I try to "save as" which is
what pops up, it will add the .html or .htm to the file.
Is there something you had to do to turn that off?

Then what you can do is create a VB macro to open or list the files
accessible on Zope and open them. Then add a button or menu item to run
the macro for your users.
Or educate them how to use the "Web folders" feature.
