And by the way you should really write this kind of code in python
script, not DTML:

newid = REQUEST['topic']
context.addDTMLDocument(id=newid, title=REQUEST['topic'])
newobj = getattr(context, newid)
newobj.manage_addProperty('name', REQUEST['poster'], 'string')
