There's also ps auxfw, but I like pstree on RedHat:

...
     |-python---python---python---4*[python]
     |-rhnsd
     |-safe_mysqld---mysqld---mysqld---mysqld
...

The only way I know to distinquish threads from ordinary children is to
look at the memory profile. For threads, they will always be exactly the
same, because they share the same memory map.
