MySQL would be an excellent choice. 

Interbase might be even better--it has many nice windows tools for
installing, querying, etc.

PostgreSQL is the most powerful of the Open Source databases, in terms of
features, however, it's not a simple setup for Windows, and might be
overkill for this project.
