Well, technically speaking .. 
 o It is unnecessary because there are at least two other headers you
vcan sort on.
 o it is redundant for the same reason

As for ugly, while I agree it does make for poor subject usage, and
IIRC, non-compliant header munging, ugliness, as beauty, is in the eye
of the beholder.
