ok. when you try to view http://hostname:8080/ it raises an authentication
box, right?
What does it say if you click cancel?
Is it:
Unauthorized.
You are not authorized to access this resource.
If yes, then you've got me stumped. If not, I might still have a clue.

Yeah, I've murdered IE 5.0 several times. I'll try an
upgrade and see if that helps. I was beginning to
think that was the problem.
One thing I don't understand is how can I be
authenticated just fine to manage the resources, but
not the View them. If I'm not visiting a management
resource, why in the world would there need to be any
authentication? Especially if a folder doesn't even
contain an acl_users folder.
