[Zope] help downloading

hi,
can somebody tell me what I need to know before downloading any zope 
product.I mean I am new to both zope and linux and except some simple 
programming on zope and python haven't done much .So if someone could 
atleast tell me how to go abt doing it  would probably have lesser trouble 
than I am anticipating right now:)For instance i want to download and use 
"Localizer" on my application.
