[Zope] stopping acquisition

Probably a newbie question:

how can I stop acquisition from a certain point?

e.g. when I have a folderish object which contains about 100 documents. The 
folderish object has a property. I don't want that the 100 documents take 
over this property. Can I manage that other than editing all the 100 
properties? It would be cool if I could stop it like in the security 
settings
