[Zope] Site slows down

Why is it that after a whole day of running the Zope clients of ZEO suddenly
slows down?
The only way that I get to fix this is by restarting zope.
BUT ZEO is not affected. It is just the clients. Why is that?

What is the maximum connections that a Zope server can handle?
