I have a small site being developed in Zope (version 2.4.1) that will =
use PostgreSQL as the database and I need to develop it with two others =
who are remote. I found NIP doing a Google search, but I was wondering =
if there are others that will host Zope and PostgreSQL in a =
non-dedicated server environment and who would do it well. I checked =
Valueweb, Interland, and Rackspace. All would do it dedicated, but =
PHP/mySQL appears to be the non-dedicated option. Valueweb's site says =
they support Python, Perl, and PHP, but I am not sure if Zope fits under =
the Python/Perl category. Wanted a recommendation before I start making =
calls.
I have a couple of other items that I would appreciate feedback on:
1. The site needs email list management and a method to send receive =
them. Seems like Mailman and Sendmail are the natural choices or does =
Zope have a product or interface that can handle that need. The list =
manager will need to be able to send email reminders to a single email =
address or list on self-scheduled basis. Are these the right tools?
2. The site is a "community" type site where individuals can login and =
save information related to self-improvement and share it with others =
(either the public at large or specified email addresses). Any =
recommendations as to Zope products that should be considered.
3. Does anyone have any recommendations as to a Zope product or other =
tool for doing PostgreSQL administration?
4. Anyone used ActiveStates' Komodo for Python/Perl development with =
Zope? If so, would you recommend it?
5. Finally, there will be some minor banner ads put on the site. Any =
recommendations on a good banner ad product or tool that is Zope =
friendly.=20
Thanks in advance.
