seems there are defaults when calling dtml-methods from dtml-docs.
http://www.zope.org/Members/michel/ZB/AppendixB.dtml says
__call__(client=None, REQUEST={}, **kw)

try
container.dtmlmethod(None, REQUEST=REQUEST)
