[Zope] ZCatalog: how to get rid of deleted objects?

Some of the brains I get from a ZCatalog search return none as the =
result of getObject().
Does that mean the corresponding object has been deleted with being =
uncataloged?
How do I clean them from the catalog. Reindex wont do it?
