[Zope] decaring a list in python

Hey everyone.

I've got an easy one here, but it's got me somewhat confused...

I declare in my product:

self.skins_loaded = ['default', 'minimal']

when I use it in a <dtml-in> I get "strings are not allowed".

Ok, fine, so I go to my edit form, which is marshalling 
"skins_loaded:lines" and I put them on two lines....  

Then it works as it should...  

How can I get this to happen from the start?

I must be missing something really obvious.
