[Zope] problem installin ParsedXML _PyObject_GC_Del undefined

I try to install ParsedXML on Zope 2.51 running on Linux.
It is not loaded since _PyObject_GC_Del is not defined. (see traceback)

I somehow have the impression that this symbol is parth of the python2.2=20
pyexpat.so (grep found it only there)

any help to resolve this problem is much apprechaited
