First, it would be a better idea to ask on the zope-db@zope.org mailing list.
Second, there are specific dtml tags for dealing with sql, to make sure that
people aren't able to enter things like "delete" or "update" as arbitrary
strings. <dtml-sqlvar field1 type=string optional> is an example of what you
want.
Check the zope-db list archives or check the zope book for more information
on this!
