[Zope] OT: In search of a simple redirector for Squid (for virtual hosting)

I've been following Toby Dickenson's how-to on using Squid in front of Zope,
and Sean Upton's mail on how he uses pyredir to handle redirections to
enable virtual hosting in Zope, and I need some extra help on setting it up
in W2K.

Has anyone else tried this or used simple python scripts to perform URL
rewritings on behalf of Squid?
