[Zope] zope freezes/halts after loading initial page

I'm sorry if someone has already suggested this but I have a RH9 system
too and I had the same problem. The way I fixed it was by using the
RPM's found at http://zope.org/Members/medienlabor/packages.
After I install this (it uses the systems python by default) it has run
stable for about 2 1/2 months now. It has not been turned off or gone
down once.

Most likely culprit on an RH9 system then is that you're running the
original RH9 glibc library.
There is a problem with the glibc version released with RH9 that can
cause
siimilar behaviour, I found that updating the glibc and recompiling zope
and
python fixed it on my system.
If your glibc is not current you should update it, there are several
mentions of the glibc problem and fix in the list's archives if you need
more details.
