hi stavros,

the zope developer guide:

and the BoringProduct:

http://www.zope.org/Members/gtk/Boring

should give good starting points.

for API documentation, the best reference is the zope source itself. 
most of what you need will be somewhere in $ZOPE_HOME/lib/python/
