Yes, embarrasingly it is a FAQ. The Zope Developer Guide Editor still hasnt 
included the sections that covers this.

In short:

* Use unicode data type for your data internally.
* Use dtml to compute the page content as a unicode string.
* Set the Content-Type header to tell ZPublisher to encode your unicode
  data as utf-8 over the network.

If you find that character set considerations are not handled automagically, 
then you are doing something wrong.
