You were not supposed to read that statement  ;-)

"make instance will emulate the zope2.x way of working, i.e no
 INSTANCE_HOME"

Does that mean I should run it? A newbie doesn't know if it's
good or bad to emulate zope2.x. I didn't do "make instance"
and everything seems fine.

Ah, maybe the reason for the confusion is a mistake in the text.
The first yellow square, should it say makezeoinstance instead
of mkzopeinstance? Would make sense  :)

What directory structure makes sense? I hade ZEO and Zope going
into the same instance. That results in less directories. Should
I put the instance directly in /path/to/zope? I would then get
only one bin/ and one etc/.
