VHMs can map subdomains. You can map subdomains with a wildcard to a 
Zope path, too, though you can't set up a rule for doing this, though 
you could probably extend VHM for doing this.

Look for the EnhancedVHM on zope.org, which has an easier interface 
(with documentation built in.)
