[Zope] Archetypes won't install

Hey guys - I just got the latest and greatest zope - 2.7.3 and am
trying to install the Archetypes product. Now, my zope server refuses
to start. I temporarily get a port 8080 used through 'nmap', but then
2 seconds later it's gone and there are no python processes running
via 'ps -A'. I've tried the latest archetypes from sf.net and i just
tried 1.2.5-rc-4 based on Andy McKay's reference in his plone book. I
don't have plone installed - just zope and the other required modules
for archetypes. Any thoughts? I can't find good material for
installation troubleshooting archetypes. Thanks in advance.
