1. You don't have to define the "ids" variable, you could use
root/Database/querytype/objectIds in repeat.

2. If you need the actual objects rather than just the id's use
objectValues.

so you should do something like:

<span tal:repeat="obj root/Database/querytype/objectValues"
tal:omit-tag="">
  <option tal:attributes="value obj/id"
  tal:content="obj/title"></option>
</span>
