[Zope] Zope 2.7.0 zopectl problems (bug?) and questions

There is definitely a problem under a Linux 2.6 kernel - not sure why,
though?  The problem for me (Debian sarge packaged Python 2.3) seems only
cosmetic; zopectl starts zope fine, just displays an error.
