[Zope] method call pre-attribute access

I've got product where it would be very beneficial to me if I could have
a method called prior to any attribute access. For example:

  thing.foo
  thing.getProperty('foo')

Either of these should trigger a call to a method which could allow or
deny access to the attribute.

Any thoughts?
