It is just a refactoring really. If we write proposals for fixing every single 
egg, nothing will ever get done. We discussed the approach heavily and also 
talked to Jim about it over the weekend before the sprint.

All changes will contain backward compatibility statements.

I disagree. Basically what Roger is doing is to split the core components from 
the ZMI views, which pull in a lot of dependencies. All of my and I think 
most others projects do not need or do not want the ZMI and all the baggage 
that comes with it.
