I noticed that there's no archive of Issue 3 or 4 on the
Zope3Newsletter wiki page.
Anyways, my real point here is to ask: when do you think Zope 3 will be
at a stage that it could/should have its own area on the Zope.org front
page? At the very least there should probably be a "Zope.org Exit" for
it soon. I think it would help generate interest and answer some of
the primary questions.
`Perl.org <http://www.perl.org/>` keeps a link to the `Perl 6
development page <http://dev.perl.org/perl6/>`. which has a nice
one-paragraph summary of the primary vision behind Perl 6's
development. The FrontPage of the ComponentArchitecture Wiki could use
a lead in paragraph like that. The current lead-in paragraph is too
brief and the vision statement is too long to answer the "What is Zope
3?" question.
I'd like to start making Zope 3 information and content easier to find
on Zope.org, and to start off with, I have created a Zope 3 Redirector
at dev.zope.org, so that the following URL:
<http://dev.zope.org/Zope3/> will work. This will allow the
Zope3Newsletter to be referred to as:
http://dev.zope.org/Zope3/Zope3Newsletter
This is arguably easier to put in emails and messages than the whole
.../ComponentArchitecture URL.
I'd like to start adding other links and content to/about Zope 3 on the
main site, without detracting from the current Zope 2 development.
This doesn't need to happen right away, but it should probably start
happening soon, especially if the goal for a Usable Zope 3 Alpha by
Years End is still on target (which, come to think of it, might be the
right time to put a 'Zope 3 Progress' area on the zope.org front page).
