By the way, I gave reasoning in my post, as did Philipp.  The only thing
that swayed Philipp was a consistence argument, which can be addressed
by removing the other implicit translation.  I pointed out that the behavior
you preopose would certainly produce an incorrect result (translation of
a string within an untranslated English sentance) in the specific example
you cited.
