The gray "swoosh" around the logo is really unfortunate from a graphics design point of view. It visually "strangles" and "confines" the Zope logo, giving the site a somewhat cheap and unprofessional look. 

Can we please just have the logo, without the Anaconda?

Ah, and yes, the transparency and alignment need fixing too. Please test with multiple browsers/platforms. Even IE5.5/Win does not properly left-align the logo image.

[The design element is executed much better on the zope.ch site, everything be larger and more spacious, still I'd prefer not to see it on zope.org]
