Software releases have version numbers like "2.6.2" or "2.6.1b1" or "2.7a1". The software that displays releases within a software package sorts lexicographically, which means alpha and beta releases will always be listed before final releases and maintenance releases. For example, sorting lexicographically "2.6b1" comes before "2.6.1". The sort routine ought to know something about the structure of release numbers so that alphas and betas come at the appropriate place.

It is particularly important because users will get the wrong idea about which release is the most current one. The link in the upper right will always be for an alpha or beta if one exists, rather than for a final release.
