well, it works now :-)  Mark this one resolved.
It wasn't working on wednesday or thursday, and several people in #zope remarked the same thing. 
It seems that somebody has since changed the server setup so that zope.org == www.zope.org.

the following left nav links don't work,
all from the Documentation section:

http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Books/ZopeBook/current/AppendixC.stx

looks like whatever handles the redirect to the current version is doing it wrong. It leaves out the leading "www" and the urls don't work without it.
