Unfortunately, this is a caching issue, where the homepage is agressively cached. In the meantime, the logged-in page will give you plenty of options as to what you can do and non-homepage pages should not be so aggressively cached so you can perform your actions.

go to www.zope.org
"Login" redirects to zope.org/login_form
and after the login it redirects back to www.zope.org
with the result that I am still not authenticated.
