Yes it is possible.

If you still have problems, save your files as .html and for the index_html
object, just have this:
<dtml-var index.html>

My GoLive is in french so I'm not going to try to help you find the switch
to turn off the care-about-extension-thing in GoLive.
(BTW, if you can afford it, DreamWeaver is much better in many respects)
