[ZPT] When did nesting slots become possible?

Hi all

In http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zpt/2001-October/002274.html
Evan has told Tony that "it makes no sense to define a slot inside 
of a slot". However, at
  http://www.zope.org/Documentation/ZopeBook/AdvZPT.stx#3-134
I read: "You can even take this technique further by defining slots 
inside of slots."

I'm using Zope 2.4.3 with PageTemplates-1-4-1 .. do I need to upgrade
Zope? Or upgrade PageTemplates?
